Winside extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They breezed past the Walthill Blujays to the tune of 72-40. With the Wildcats ahead 52-26 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Winside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Matthew Gubbels, Mason Edwards, and Asher Uttecht picked up one apiece. Uttecht got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
As for Walthill, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5. Even if they couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.
Despite the defeat, Walthill saw an underclassman step up: freshman Mike Dale picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
