The Iola Mustangs posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They really took it to Marmaton Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-23 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-7.
Iola got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Weide out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Cortland Carson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Iola's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Marmaton Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Iola will play host again and welcome Burlington, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marmaton Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Crest on January 19th.
