The McDonald Blue Devils''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Danville, falling 51-7. McDonald was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Leading Danville to victory were Cole Delaughder and Walker Weckesser. Delaughder gained 197 total yards and two touchdowns, while Weckesser threw for 157 yards and four touchdowns. Delaughder was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Nate Stephens also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.
McDonald's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Danville, Mineral Ridge, and Lowellville. As for Danville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
McDonald does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Danville will be playing in front of their home fans against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
