Football Recap: Robbinsville Skates Past Andrews with Ease

While Robbinsville put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Andrews. The Black Knights claimed a resounding 56-0 win over the Wildcats. Given the Black Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Wildcats are ranked 402nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Luke Lovin, who rushed for 34 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 56 yards and one TD. What's more, he racked up 136.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Cameron Allison got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Robbinsville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 399 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

Robbinsville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Allison and Elijah Kirkland. Allison got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Robbinsville pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.3 points on average over those games. As for Andrews, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robbinsville will host Swain County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 946 yards in their previous games. As for Andrews, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rosman at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
