The North Schuylkill Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Danville Ironmen at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Danville will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: North Schuylkill extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Spartans blew past Our Lady of Lourdes Regional 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 13 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, North Schuylkill got a massive performance out of Jordanna Frie, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Frie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gianna Capone, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
North Schuylkill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Our Lady of Lourdes Regional only posted an OBP of .143.
Danville not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 16-3). Everything went their way against Warrior Run as they made off with a 16-5 victory.
Like North Schuylkill, Danville also got a great game from a two-way player: Ryleigh Hepner. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hepner was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Jillian Lowe and Brynn Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: Lowe went 3-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs, while Wilson went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two doubles. Lowe is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Brianna Blue was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
North Schuylkill's record now sits at 16-4. As for Danville, their record is now 6-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. North Schuylkill hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Danville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
North Schuylkill couldn't quite finish off Danville when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
