Baseball Recap: Grafton Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Grafton hadn't done well against Uxbridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Gators walked away with a 10-6 win over the Spartans. This was payback for the Gators, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

James Tindall looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Finn Gilmore, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ryan Chagnon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Grafton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Grafton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Uxbridge, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3.

Grafton and Uxbridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Gators (ranked 41st) will meet Leicester (ranked 258th) at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Uxbridge will take on Tantasqua Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (10 vs. 54). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.6, the Warriors 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
