Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Skyline's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Skyline hadn't done well against Millbrook recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Hawks walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Pioneers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in April.

The team relied heavily on Mark Jeffries, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Izaiah Matthews, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Skyline has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Millbrook, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Coming up, Skyline will take on Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Millbrook will be paying especially close attention to the Hawks' matchup: after the Hawks face off against Handley, they'll take on Millbrook again at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
