If the Westwood Cardinals were feeling good off their 54-30 takedown of the Park Ridge Owls last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Westwood took a 49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Hawks. Westwood has struggled against the Golden Hawks recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
River Dell got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sean Golden out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Golden is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aditya Pandya, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Westwood's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for River Dell, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood will face off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. River Dell's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Braves at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. The timing isn't great for Indian Hills: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while the Golden Hawks have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
