The Central Valley Christian Cavaliers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 55-38 victory over Simi Valley on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but Central Valley Christian sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Bryson Donelson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 358 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. Donelson's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Another player making a difference was Brent Kroeze, who threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Simi Valley still got an impressive performance from Brice Hawkins, who rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 59 receiving yards. Hawkins is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Jesse Sereno was another key contributor, throwing for 310 yards and three touchdowns.
Central Valley Christian pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Simi Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Central Valley Christian will square off against Los Gatos at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Los Gatos will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. Simi Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
