The Curlew Cougars had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 52-48 W over Oroville on Friday. The win was just what Curlew needed coming off of a 77-38 defeat in their prior game.
Logan Thompson was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Curlew's points. Another player making a difference was Evan Olson, who scored 11 points.
Curlew's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Oroville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Curlew won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Selkirk at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Selkirk is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Oroville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Republic at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Republic will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
