The Seguin Cougars will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Midlothian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Seguin will be strutting in after a victory while Midlothian will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Joshua scored an imposing 71 points on Wednesday, Seguin still came out on top. Seguin secured a 75-71 W over Joshua. Given Seguin's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Joshua is ranked 873rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
While Midlothian couldn't quite beat Mansfield Timberview on Wednesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 26-point loss they were dealt on Friday. Midlothian fell just short of Mansfield Timberview by a score of 42-39. It was the first time this season that Midlothian let down their fans at home.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alex Gilmore, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Bryce Tennison, who scored 13 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Seguin and bumps their season record up to 15-11. As for Midlothian, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10.
