The Vine Christian Academy Kings lost against the Pathways Eagles back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Vine Christian Academy suffered a rough 53-28 defeat at the hands of the Eagles. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Vine Christian Academy has scored all season.
Carlos Escalera was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds for Pathways. Steven Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Vine Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Pathways, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vine Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays the at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. DME Academy Gold will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while the Kings are ranked 299th). As for Pathways, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Altamonte Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 365 points over their last five contests.
