The Jasper Wildcats won the last time they faced the Evansville North Huskies, and things went their way on Saturday too. Jasper rang in the new year with a 52-45 win over Evansville North.
When it comes to explaining why Evansville North lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cayden Gehlhausen. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Brayden Huebner was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Jasper now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Evansville North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jasper will take on Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Evansville North and Vincennes Lincoln will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Joel Sanders and Gehlhausen.
