The Aliquippa Quips will take on the McKeesport Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Aliquippa comes in on 12 and McKeesport on nine.
Aliquippa had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 47-24 margin over Mars. The result was nothing new for Aliquippa, who have now won seven matches by 23 points or more so far this season.
Tiqwai Hayes had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 233 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Hayes really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
Meanwhile, McKeesport faced Montour in a battle between two of the state's top teams. McKeesport beat Montour on Friday by the very same score they won with last week: 28-14.
Their wins bumped Aliquippa to 11-0 and Mars to 10-3.
Everything came up roses for Aliquippa against McKeesport in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 42-7 victory. Does Aliquippa have another victory up their sleeve, or will McKeesport turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
