On Thursday, the Chippewa Valley Big Reds were out to avenge their 81-51 defeat to the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils from their previous meeting last December, but they had no such luck. Chippewa Valley came up short against Grosse Pointe, falling 64-56. This makes it the second loss in a row for the Big Reds.
Chippewa Valley's overall record fell to 6-11. The victory was the 13th in a row for Grosse Pointe and raised their record to 15-2.
Chippewa Valley will square off against Utica in two weeks. Like Chippewa Valley, Utica is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 49-39 to Fraser. The Blue Devils will be hunkering down at home again for their contest against Edison Academy in two weeks. The odds don't look promising for Grosse Pointe, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
