Make it 14 blowout wins for the Kings Christian Crusaders this season. They blew past Alpaugh 84-48 on the road. Kings Christian is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 17 straight.
Ronnie Roche was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-11 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. Roche is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Brouwer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Alpaugh still got an impressive performance from Jesus Nunez, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Nunez also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Luis Vasquez was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Kings Christian pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.33 points. As for Alpaugh, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.
Kings Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Strathmore at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Strathmore knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Kings Christian likes a good challenge. As for Alpaugh, they will head out on the road to face off against Laton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laton is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
