James Lick unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through  a    42-0 loss at the hands of the American Eagles. Sadly, the  defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead American to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Jordan Garcia, who rushed for 103 yards and three  TDs on only six carries. Garcia also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  picking up  a  sack and making five total tackles.  Jayden Martinez also helped with two touchdowns in total.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. James Lick will host Monta Vista  at 7:15  p.m.  on Thursday. As for American, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Kennedy  at 7:00  p.m.
