Franklin is 8-2 against Edison since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Franklin Yellowjackets will challenge the Edison Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Franklin was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rio Vista on Friday. Franklin put the hurt on Rio Vista with a sharp 15-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellowjackets considering their one-run performance the match before.

The team relied heavily on Larry Cachua, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Franklin is undefeated when Cachua posts three or more hits, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Miguel Rojas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, while Edison put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Lathrop. Edison was the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Lathrop.
Santiago Moreno was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Julian Avila was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaak Navarrete, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Franklin's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Edison, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Franklin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .469. However, it's not like Edison struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
