The Timberline Wolves will challenge the Capital Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Timberline has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Timberline is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Thursday. They lost 18-8 to Borah.
Timberline saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aspen Brinkman, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Brinkman has launched this season. Another was Ivy Norskog, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Capital was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They skirted past Ridgevue 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Warhawks: they've now won six in a row.
Romy Turpen made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Darlene Espinoza, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Olli Fuchs was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Capital kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 11-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Capital's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Timberline, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
