Hopewell  took care of business in their home opener  on Tuesday (barely). They had just enough and edged the Shenango Wildcats out  13-12. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
  David Medich looked comfortable as he  struck out eight batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   one  hit.
 At the plate,  Logan Triscila was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-1.  Ben Mcdonald was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Hopewell will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against Mohawk Area at 4:30  p.m. The last three games Hopewell has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Shenango, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Union Area at 1:00  p.m.  on April 13th.
