Baseball Recap: Taylorsville Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Taylorsville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Murray Spartans with a sharp 15-7 win on Friday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by eight runs or more this season.

Taylorsville let Holden Cottle and Brex Romney run wild. Cottle went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Romney went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Cottle has posted since back in April of 2024. Matt Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Taylorsville's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Murray, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 12-3-1 record.

Coming up, Taylorsville will take on Cyprus at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Murray, they will face off against Hunter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
