The Calvary Christian Academy Eagles's ten-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They managed a 49-44 victory over Saint Andrew. The win was all the more spectacular given Calvary Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Saint Andrew's is ranked 188th).
Calvary Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taryn Wakefield out in front who scored 18 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Wakefield, who scored 15 points.
Calvary Christian Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Saint Andrew's, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pine Crest at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Saint Andrew's, they will head out on the road to square off against NSU University at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
