The Newington Nor'easters's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell just short of Bristol Central by a score of 20-17. Newington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bristol Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.
Although Newington took the loss, they still got scores from Akari Rosemond and Aiden Bengtson.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bristol Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Glasper, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Newington has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 1-8 record. As for Bristol Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newington will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Wethersfield at 6:00 p.m. on November 22nd. Wethersfield is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Bristol Central will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bristol Eastern at 10:30 a.m. on November 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bristol Eastern is ranked 75th, while Bristol Central is ranked 65th).
