They took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bertie. Riverside-Martin has struggled against the Falcons recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Bertie was led to victory by Alexia Dickerson and Rakiyah Peele. Dickerson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Peele scored 32 points along with six rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Peele has scored at least a third of Bertie's points.
Riverside-Martin's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bertie, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Riverside-Martin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bertie will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Red Barons at 6:00 p.m. Gates County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in North Carolina (the Red Barons are ranked 123rd, while the Falcons are ranked 340th).
