Salpointe Catholic has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Salpointe Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
Salpointe Catholic has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Flowing Wells 55-25 at home. Given Salpointe Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Flowing Wells is ranked 49th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Allison Even was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for she. Another player making a difference was Jordan Watts, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School lost to Rio Rico on the road by a decisive 59-43 margin on Monday.
Salpointe Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Salpointe Catholic took their win against Tucson High Magnet School in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 58-33. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tucson High Magnet School's Gabriella Sanchez, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
