They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-15 win over the Calhoun County Saints. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
As for Calhoun County, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-8. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), they still had to take the loss.
For Calhoun County's part, Chippy Ayon put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ayon has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
