The Knightstown Panthers were the 57-48 winner over the Tri Titans when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Knightstown took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri on Saturday.
Knightstown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brayden McDaniel, who scored 12 points. McDaniel has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Roberson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Leading Tri to victory were Josiah Cox and Bryant Cornelius. Cox scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Cornelius scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Cox's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Melton , who scored four points along with 11 rebounds.
Knightstown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Tri, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightstown will take on Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tri, they will be playing at home against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cambridge City Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
