Baseball Recap: St. John Paul II Catholic Now 9-2 over Last 11 Games

Glendale Prep Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday St. John Paul II Catholic proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Griffins. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Griffins, too.

James Pierski was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Pierski was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Francisco Vasquez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

St. John Paul II Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glendale Prep Academy only managed five hits.

St. John Paul II Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Glendale Prep Academy, they moved to 12-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
