Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Avery). They enjoyed a cozy 46-27 win over the Excel Christian Academy Eagles on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Excel Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Paydan Handlin, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Addi Russell, who earned six points.

Avery's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Excel Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avery will take on Leverett's Chapel in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Excel Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian Home Educators at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
