Basketball Recap: 15 Straight Home Victories for Valiant Cross Academy

Valiant Cross Academy had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They breezed by the Lowndes Academy Rebels to the tune of 66-34. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Valiant Cross Academy was led to victory by Deshawn Hall and Jordan Archie. Hall dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Archie went 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Hall is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 48 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Cosby, who posted seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Valiant Cross Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 23 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Valiant Cross Academy pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Lowndes Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coincidentally, Valiant Cross Academy and Lowndes Academy will both be playing Evangel Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Valiant Cross Academy will head out to face Evangel Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lowndes Academy will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
