The Southwest Christian School Eagles lost against the Midland Christian Mustangs back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Southwest Christian School took a serious blow against Midland Christian, falling 58-3. Southwest Christian School has not had much luck with Midland Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Maddox Mccarroll threw for 35 yards on four of 12 attempts. On the ground, Bourke Toler rushed for 34 yards.
It was another big night for Colton Newsom, who rushed for 157 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Brylee Perez was another key contributor, gaining 163 total yards and two touchdowns.
Southwest Christian School has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Midland Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest Christian School will challenge Legacy Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southwest Christian School in Texas (Legacy Christian Academy is ranked 234th, while Southwest Christian School is ranked 579th). As for Midland Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Grace Community at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
