In what's become a running theme this season, the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. Everything went their way against Newtown as Kolbe-Cathedral made off with a 54-32 win. The victory was familiar territory for Kolbe-Cathedral who now have four in a row.
It was another big night for Rachel Cherrington, who scored 13 points along with six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mi'Yah Bostic, who scored 12 points.
Kolbe-Cathedral pushed their record up to 11-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Newtown, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-3.
Kolbe-Cathedral will take on the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Immaculate is ranked 38th, while the Cougars are ranked 24th). As for Newtown, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
