Marathon never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Miami Country Day Spartans 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Roco Piscetello was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Gabriel Leal was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Bryan Broche was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Marathon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Marathon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. Miami Country Day dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marathon will challenge Port St. Joe at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Port St. Joe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Miami Country Day, they will square off against Somerset Academy South Homestead at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Somerset Academy South Homestead has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.44 runs per game on average), something Miami Country Day will no doubt try to take advantage of.
