Jal took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Clayton Yellowjackets as the Jal Panthers made off with a 15-5 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Adam Juarez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cristian Rangel, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Clayton now has a losing record of 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jal will welcome Mescalero Apache at 1:00 p.m. on March 22nd. As for Clayton, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Penasco at 3:00 p.m. on March 21st.
