South Oak Cliff is 5-0 against Hillcrest since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The South Oak Cliff Bears will look to defend their home court against the Hillcrest Panthers at 7:30 p.m. South Oak Cliff will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive.
Even though Wilson scored an imposing 64 points two weeks ago, South Oak Cliff still came out on top. South Oak Cliff snuck past Wilson with a 70-64 win.
Hillcrest aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Tuesday extended their overall winning streak to three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Jefferson 78-48 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-20.
Kurt Thomas and Creed Vance were among the main playmakers for Hillcrest as the former scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals and the latter scored 23 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vance has scored all season. Jed-ethan Nansha was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Hillcrest's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Jacoby Ogbonna got a bit more time on the court (20 vs. his season average of 9.35). Ogbonna made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points along with seven rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
South Oak Cliff is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Hillcrest, their win bumped their record up to 13-14.
South Oak Cliff didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hillcrest in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win. Will South Oak Cliff repeat their success, or does Hillcrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
