Luke Cuellar Has Career Rushing Day
Starting off the list is Thomas Jefferson's Luke Cuellar, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Thursday Cuellar rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 135 yards on only ten passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 68 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
The win snapped Thomas Jefferson's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. They and Aurora Central are set to duel on Saturday.

Zavious Chineth's Big Game Leads Northfield over Montbello
Zavious Chineth was a major factor in Northfield's victory over Montbello on Thursday. Montbello had no answer to Chineth as he rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 16 yards and a touchdown.
Northfield's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. Chineth and Northfield will challenge Denver North at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Dwyer Posts Huge Game in 28-0 Victory
George Washington found a leader in Hayes Dwyer as the team took down Aurora Central on Thursday. Aurora Central had no answer to Dwyer as he rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 147 yards on 11 of 19 attempts.
Dwyer must have Aurora Central's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Dwyer threw for 247 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes the last time he and the Trojans duked it out back in September of 2023.
