On Tuesday, the Huntingdon Mustangs faced the Dyersburg Trojans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Huntingdon strolled past Dyersburg with points to spare, taking the game 73-54. The win was familiar territory for Huntingdon who now have six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Dyersburg lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joya Crawford. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelby Jordan, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Huntingdon's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Dyersburg, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.
Huntingdon will be playing at home against Camden Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Camden Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Huntingdon is ranked 17th). As for Dyersburg, they will head out on the road to challenge Obion County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
