While losing is never fun, Laguna Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Marina is ranked 96th).
Despite the loss, Laguna Beach still got an impressive performance from Dylan Mceachern, who scored 32 points. The game was Mceachern's 20th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Halvorson, who scored 15 points.
Laguna Beach's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Marina, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Laguna Beach will head out on the road to face off against Corona del Mar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corona del Mar is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games. As for Marina, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Huntington Beach at 7:00 p.m. Huntington Beach is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
