Freeman moved up to 102 from 133 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAA Colonial. The Rebels climbed the ranks as a result of beating Marshall 13-12.
Hermitage extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Deep Run, 49-14. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Panthers.
Jefferson's Maurice Watkins and Kiyelle Whitaker have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Watkins has thrown for 216 yards this season, while Whitaker, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has six catches for 144 yards. Hermitage's Derrick Green leads the league in rushing yards with 421.
The top two teams in AAA Colonial will face off this week when first place Hermitage takes on second place Godwin. Last week, Patrick Kane's team topped the Wildcats, while Godwin bested Tucker.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Panthers take on the Eagles. Hermitage has allowed 65 points this season, while Godwin has given up 113. The Panthers allowed 14 points last week as they bested Deep Run.
Freeman and the Justices played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Freeman eventually emerging with a 13-12 victory.
