The Calhan Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 73-58 fall against Burlington. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calhan in their matchups with Burlington: they've now lost six in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Daniel Chacon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Adan Lopez-Mitchell, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Calhan's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Burlington, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Calhan will be playing in front of their home fans against Miami-Yoder at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Miami-Yoder is ranked 199th, while Calhan is ranked 206th). As for Burlington, Burlington and Genoa-Hugo/Karval will face off at 3:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Genoa-Hugo/Karval focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Saturday.
