The Goleman Gators waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 41-31 victory over Hialeah.
Goleman found their leader in underclassman Akayla Edwards, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmin Brown, who scored six points along with five steals.
Goleman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Hialeah, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Goleman will take on American at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. American's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Goleman's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hialeah, they will head out on the road to square off against Archbishop McCarthy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop McCarthy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
