The Central A & M Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 77-58 bruising from Meridian. Central A & M has not had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meridian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooks Brown led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Hill, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Central A & M's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central A & M is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Shelbyville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Raiders in Illinois (the Rams are ranked 195th, while the Raiders are ranked 539th). As for Meridian, they will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuscola will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
