Olympian kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Westview Wolverines by a score of 16-14. Despite 109 more yards than the Wolverines, the Eagles couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Olympian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayden Fuentes, who threw for 194 yards and a touchdown, and Jayden Sandoval, who picked up 69 receiving yards and a touchdown. Sandoval got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of57 yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (82 yards to be exact) also went to Patricio Flatts.
Olympian will welcome Grossmont at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westview, they will head out to take on Mission Hills at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
