The Santa Clara Saints were the 63-53 winner over the Bishop Diego Cardinals when they last played one another on January 12th, but their luck changed this time around. Santa Clara had to suffer through a rough 76-36 loss at the hands of the Cardinals. Santa Clara has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Santa Clara's loss on Monday came despite strong showings from Andy Pimentel and Jason Valenzulea. Pimentel scored 11 points along with seven rebounds, while Valenzulea scored six points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Santa Clara has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Bishop Diego, their victory bumped their record up to 6-21.
Santa Clara will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Seraphs at 6:00 p.m. St. Bonaventure knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully the Saints likes a good challenge. Bishop Diego does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
