Sierra and East Union are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Sierra Timberwolves will head out on the road to square off against the East Union Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Sierra is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Union in California (Sierra is ranked 482nd, while East Union is ranked 1004th).
It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Sierra ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 62-57 W over Oakdale. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, East Union's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Manteca. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Union in their matchups with Manteca: they've now lost nine in a row.
Sierra's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-11. As for East Union, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-21.
Sierra didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against East Union in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sierra since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
