Olympic pushed their score all the way to 60 last Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of East Gaston by a score of 63-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (59), Olympic still had to take the loss.
Olympic's loss came about despite a quality game from RANDY JOHNSON, who scored 28 points. JOHNSON scored a full 46.7% of Olympic's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was DEANGELO HALL, who scored six points along with seven steals.
Even though they lost, Olympic were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, North Hills Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Westminster Catawba Christian, falling 99-50. North Hills Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-32.
Despite the defeat, North Hills Christian got a solid performance out of Champion Hayden, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Olympic bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for North Hills Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
