William Floyd has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on Sachem East at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. William Floyd has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
In what's become a running theme this season, William Floyd gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They breezed by Longwood on the road to the tune of 69-40. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point William Floyd had established a 22 point advantage.
William Floyd had a senior duo take command as Kayla Gilmore almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds and Shy Hawkins dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Gilmore pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacqueline Sutherland, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sachem East took a serious blow against the Wildcats on Thursday, falling 72-37. Sachem East has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
William Floyd's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Sachem East, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
