The Aurora Central Trojans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Weld Central Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Aurora Central is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Jefferson. The Trojans never let the Saints get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory last Thursday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Toby Sanchez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Sanchez was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Aurora Central let Kirby Colbert-Olson and Andres Aguillera run wild. Colbert-Olson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Aguillera got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Aguillera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Borja, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Aurora Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only posted an OBP of .100.
