Puckett has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pelahatchie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Wolves will take on the Chiefs at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Puckett has five straight victories, Pelahatchie has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Puckett made easy work of Raleigh and carried off an 8-2 win. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Lila Murphy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Murphy wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rose Peden, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Peden also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Brooke Shivers was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Pelahatchie came up short against Pisgah on Thursday, falling 12-2.
Zoey Jones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Puckett's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Pelahatchie, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Puckett hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like Pelahatchie struggles in that department as they've averaged .421. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Puckett took their victory against Pelahatchie in their previous meeting on Wednesday by a conclusive 22-0 score. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Chiefs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
