Football Recap: Leake Academy Skates Past Washington with Ease

It's playoff time, and Leake Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Washington Generals, posting a 63-28 win. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 27 points or more this season.

Leake Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garrett Adcock led the charge by rushing for 162 yards and three scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 43 receiving yards and one TD. Adcock was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. George Wilcox was another key passer, throwing for 310 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes.

The victory made it two in a row for Leake Academy and bumps their season record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points over those games. As for Washington, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-2 record.

Coming up, Leake Academy will face off against Tri-County Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-County Academy's defense has only allowed 9.9 points per game this season, so Leake Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
